कुलधरा, राजस्थान के जैसलमेर से 15 किलोमीटर के दूरी पर स्थित एक ऐसा गांव है जो अपनी दहशत के लिए जाना जाता है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि जिन जगहों पर भूत-प्रेत का वास होता है उन जगहों पर बसने वाले लोग उस जगह को छोड़ कर चले जाते हैं और अगर नहीं जाते तो उन्हें अपनी जान से हाथ धोना पड़ता है।

कुलधरा भी एक ऐसा ही गांव है जहां पहले ब्राह्मण समुदाय का वास था। ऐसा माना जाता है कि सन 1825 में इस गांव में रहने वाले पालीवाल ब्राह्मण और आसपास के रहने वाले 84 गांवों के लोग रातोंरात अपना घर छोड़कर चले गए। सन 1300 से इस गांव में पालीवाल ब्राह्मण की पीढ़ियां रहा करती थी और रक्षाबंधन के दिन सभी इस गांव को छोड़कर चले गए। ऐसा माना जाता है इस दिन कुछ ऐसा हुआ था जिसके बाद आज तक भी बहुत से पालीवाल ब्राह्मण रक्षाबंधन का त्यौहार नहीं मनाते हैं।

दरअसल ऐसा माना जाता है कि जैसलमेर के दीवान सलीम सिंह को कुलधरा समेत 84 गांवों के मुखिया की खूबसूरत बेटी से प्यार हो गया था। सलीम सिंह ने गांव के लोगों को यह धमकी दी थी कि अगर उसका विवाह उस लड़की के साथ ना हुआ तो वह करों में और ज्यादा वृद्धि कर देगा। ऐसे में गांव के मुखिया ने उस जगह को छोड़कर जाने का फैसला कर लिया और जाते-जाते यह श्राप दिया कि जो भी उनके जाने के बाद इस गांव में रहेगा या बसने की कोशिश करेगा वह अपनी जान से हाथ धो देगा। मुखिया और उसकी बेटी के जाने के बाद गांव के बहुत से लोग धीरे-धीरे कर के बीमार पड़ने लगे और लोगों की अकारण ही मृत्यु होने लगी। इस घटना के बाद कुलधरा और आसपास के 84 गांव के लोगों ने अपना-अपना घर छोड़ दिया और तब से लेकर अब तक कोई भी उस गांव में बसने की हिम्मत नहीं जुटा पाया है।

बीर धाम के मेले में 3 दिनों तक इंसानों की नहीं बल्कि भूत, चुड़ैल और डायनों का जमावड़ा लगता है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि यहाँ पर भूत, डायन और चुड़ैल से मुक्ति दिलाई जाती है। 350 सालों से चल रहे इस मेले में उत्तर प्रदेश ही नहीं बल्कि बिहार, झारखंड, छत्तीसगढ़ और मध्यप्रदेश से तमाम प्रेत बाधित लोग मत्था टेकने आते हैं। मेला की खासियत यह है कि यहां फरियादी तो इंसान होता है, लेकिन इनके ऊपर भूत, चुड़ैल व डायन के साया का कब्जा होता है। यहाँ के लोगों का कहना कि बेचू वीर बाबा की समाधि की देखभाल उनके वंशज ही करते हैं। ऐसी मान्यता है कि बेचू वीर, भगवान शंकर के साधना में हमेशा लीन रहा करते थें। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि बेचू वीर शेर से लड़ते हुए प्राण त्याग दिए।

मान्यता है भी कि एक बार वीर लोरिक के साथ बेचू वीर बाबा मिश्री के घनघोर जंगल में ठहरे थे। इस घनघोर जंगल में बेचू वीर बाबा भगवान शिव की आराधना में लीन थे, इसी दौरान उनके ऊपर एक शेर ने हमला कर दिया। तीन दिनों तक चले इस युद्ध में बेचू बीर बाबा ने अपने प्राण त्याग दिए और उसी जगह पर उनकी समाधि बनाई गई। तभी से यहां पर मेला लगने लगा। इस मेले में भूत, प्रेत के अलावा नि:संतान लोग भी आते हैं।

कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि 1857 की बगावत के बाद यहाँ पर अंग्रेजों ने अंतिम मुगल बादशाह बहादुर शाह जफर के बेटों और पोतों को गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी थी और उसके बाद से इसे खूनी दरवाजा का नाम दिया गया। बहादुर शाह जफर के बेटे मिर्जा मुगल और मिर्जा खिज्र सुल्तान और पोते मिर्जा अबू बख्त को एक ब्रिटिश अधिकारी मेजर विलियम हॉडसन ने गोली मार दी थी। हॉडसन ने सम्राट का आत्मसमर्पण प्राप्त किया, और अगले दिन हुमायूं के मकबरे पर तीन राजकुमारों से बिना शर्त आत्मसमर्पण के लिए कहा था। हॉडसन ने बादशाह के परिवार के लगभग 16 सदस्यों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया और उन्हें हुमायूं के मकबरे से एक टुकड़ी के साथ एक बैलगाड़ी में ले जा रहा था। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि इस दरवाजे पर पहुंचने के बाज सफेद कपड़ा बांधे हुए हजारों गाज़ियों ने घेर लिया था। हॉडसन लिखता है कि जहां तक उसकी नजर जा सकती थी वो चारों तरफ से गाजियों से घिरा हुआ था। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि हॉडसन ने तीनों को घटनास्थल पर उतरने का आदेश दिया उन्हें नंगा कर दिया और बिल्कुल नजदीक से गोली मारकर उनकी हत्या कर दी।

1857 के विद्रोह के समय खूनी दरवाजा एक तोरण द्वार था, पारंपरिक अर्थों में यह कोई दरवाजा नहीं था। इके बारे में एक और कहावत है कि 1739 में ईरानी शासक नादिर शाह ने जब दिल्ली पर चढ़ाई की तो जमकर कत्लेआम किया और उसकी वजह से काफी खून बहा और उसकी वजह से इस दरवाजे का नाम खूनी दरवाजा पड़ गया। हालांकि इस थ्योरी पर कुछ इतिहासकार संदेह जताते हैं। लेकिन इस दरवाजे को लेकर कुछ और भी कहानिया प्रचलित हैं जैसे जहांगीर जब मुगलिया गद्दी पर बैठने का प्रयास कर रहा था तो उस समय अकबर के नवरत्नों में से एक अब्दुर्रहीम ख़ान-ए-ख़ाना ने विरोध किया था। बदले की आग में जल रहे जहांगीर ने उसके दो बेटों को मरवा दिया और लाश को दरवाजे के पास रखवा दिया। औरंगजेब ने अपने बड़े भाई दाराशिकोह को मरवा दिया था और इस गेट पर उसके जनाजे का प्रदर्शन कराया ताकि लोगों में उसका खौफ बना रहे। इस दरवाजे को लेकर कई तरह की कहानियां हैं लेकिन 1857 की बगावत से पहले इसका कोई लिखित दस्तावेज नहीं है। वजह चाहे कोई भी हो, लेकिन दिल्ली का “खूनी दरवाजा” आज भी लोगों के बीच में मिस्ट्री बनी हुई है।

2. भानगढ़ का किला, राजस्थान
